Review of Dead Man (1995) by Howard J — 16 May 2008
Dead Man is a drawn out metaphysical journey into death, one with constant and failed attempts at any style. The music is way too distracting, pacing is way too slow, and the ending drags on forever. I lost interest way too early in the film for me to give it acknowledgements for its unique concept or good acting.
I would like to note that the cinematography was interesting and B&W was a great choice. Maybe worth a watch, but Jim Jarmusch ruined something that could have been great.
