Review of Dead Man (1995) by John T — 17 May 2008
There's a lot to admire about Dead Man: it brilliantly creates a mysterious dystopian world, courtesy the black and white, a disorienting and atmospheric soundtrack by Neil Young and quirky characters. however, the director seems to be trying to say something about which I've no clue, and he doesnt employ much more than some ham handed dialogue about the "white man", william blake and whatnot to get the point across(if at all there is one!).
Still, as a twisted, occasionally even perversely funny neo western, its a mighty interesting watch.
