Review of Dead Man (1995) by Buddy K — 25 Jul 2009
Great postmodern western with a bleak atmosphere throughout. As with all great westerns it plays with the conventions of the genre. The cast is quite incredible and littered with cameos throughout. Perhaps the most notable aspects of the film however are it's stunning visuals and the randomness of the violence which always feels random and never pre planned and coreographed, each murder feels truly like a completely random and unexpect occurence which is something rarely captured this well in film.
