In a world where writers pepper their screenplays with pop-culture references to appear hip ('Juno', anyone?), Jim Jarmusch understands how to create a film that doesn't simply reference American culture, but embodies it.
Dead Man is dense, fascinating and by far the best film Johnny Depp has ever been in.
