A strange and dreamy Western with Johnny Depp on fine form, not to mention many surprise cameos like Robert Mitchum, Billy Bob Thornton and Iggy Pop. It's very subtle and spiritual piece. Johnny Depp pretty much spends the entire film dying from being shot by his own kind then taken under the wing of a native American who are considered 'savages'.
Basically, it's his spiritual journey through wid and unfamiliar terrain where death is everywhere. Also, I loved Neil Younds 'Dead Man Theme' score as it adds emotional depth to the story.
