Review of Dead Man (1995) by Josh H — 10 Mar 2012
Stylish. That's about the only positive thing I can say about this movie. It is painfully slow, most of the acting is (purposefully) over the top and cliche, it is hyper-stylized, and the story doesn't make much sense. Plus, they didn't worry about consistency very much, so you are left wondering what happened to the woman Nobody was having sex with, what happened to the burrow they picked up and then mysteriously didn't have any more, how Blake fires 7 shots with a six-shooter before running out of bullets, how he survives so long without food or water while bleeding to death, and how Wilson is able to get shot in the chest with an arrow and then ignore it completely.
This is, at best, a mess.
The best thing about the movie is the Neil Young score.
