Review of Dead Birds (2005) by Christopher V — 15 Mar 2005
I am always open to any kind of film out there. I can watch a so called "Chick flick" and follow it up with a "gruesome horror flick." Not any one type of film is better than another.
What I look for in a film is that it delivers the goods it promises too. A great drama should have a great script and great acting. A horror film should scare you, creep you out and make you feel uneasy.
If you have a good script that is not too farfetched you just may have a winner. I freely admit to being a "horror movie" fan but I am fair. I know there is a lot of junk out there. For every good scary movie there are five that are pure garbage.
I was pleasantly surprised with dead birds which was released straight to DVD. There is not a complicated story here or some major twist at the end. The atmosphere was creepy and frankly the film made me jump a few times and that is hard to do.
The film is rated R and does contain it share of gore. I can take the gore as long as there are scares to go along with it. If you like horror check this one out.
