Review of Dead Birds (2005) by Sondre L — 17 Oct 2008
Some horror filmmakers have a very good grasp on convention. Dead Birds is very effective with these fundamentals. It builds and holds tension very well. It measures its use of "jump" moments.
It's nicely shot, lit and scored...but it makes the mistake of delivering its story in far too ambiguous a manner to pack a powerful punch.
