Review of Dead Birds (2005) by Scott B — 07 Mar 2009
For a low budget film, the cast and crew did an excellent job of setting and maintaining an atmosphere. Acting was solid, costumes and production design were immersive, camera-work was admirable. The story was predictable, but who watches horror for literary substance? Dead Birds succeeds in scaring through clever pacing and focusing character reactions, rather than relying on lots of jump scares directed at the audience.
