Review of Dead and Deader (2006) by David O — 02 Jan 2009
The idea behind this film as revealed in the 'making' of featurette was to make a "zombie version of Blade". Just don't expect the production value of Blade. This is a made for sci-fi channel TV budgeted film.
The film is fun though and those that like cheesy B-movies should enjoy this. Starring Dean Cain as the half human, half zombie hero "Dead & Deader" is a zombie comedy. Comparison's to "Sean Of The Dead" are inevitable and fans of that film will probably enjoy the tongue in cheek approach to this. There are also lots of nods and pop-culture references most notibley a couple of one liners that poke fun at Cain's most famous role to date Clark Kent/Superman on tv's 'Lois & Clark'.
