Looks as if I am going to have to fire Brittany. 3 days no call, no show. But, when I talked to H.R. they tell me to put her on a leave of absence, since she was out sick the first three days. Whatever... I have no patience for this shit, and I want her out as soon as possible. She's lucky I went through H.R. to cover my ass.

I'm sunburned. Went swimming yesterday, and my shoulders are very RED.

Spent a lot of time with my friend Andrew, his snobby niece and her snobby friends. I thought only middle-class white girls were capable of being this high-mantainence and girly. And I've never heard the word 'nigger' uttered so many times in person. Holy shit. They were here for Essence fest. Yeah, Jim was a tad out of place. On the news, they interviewed this woman who said she had never seen this many black people in one place before, and that it was beautiful. Give me a fucking break.

Something else I've been meaning to mention... on the AFI music special a few weeks ago, Rosie Perez called herself a Puerto-Rican American. Am I the only one who sees something odd in that statement?

People need to fucking get over racial shit. All people.

6 murders in New Orleans this weekend. 3 yesterday morning within about 45 minutes of each other. Seems this summer has got itself a bit of another crime wave. Just about a month ago, there were a half-dozen murders overnight.

R.I.P Marlon Brando. Last Tango in Paris is his best performance, IMO. On the Waterfront ain't too shabby neither.

Saw Spidey on opening night. Damn good movie. I think the only superhero movie that tops it is Superman II. Why? Because Superman II has the better villain. General Zod is just soooo badass.

Shattered Glass surprised me a bit. Well acted and an interesting tale of a man who lies because he loves the feeling he gets when lighting up a room with his tales. The one problem with it was that it never really tries to crack Stephen Glass, mostly a failure on the part of the script, and partly on Hayden "Don't call me Ani" Christensen (whose name I probably just misspelled). He does a good job of acting, don't get me wrong, but... it was just lacking something. On the other hand, the movie definitely has Chuck (Peter Sarsgard, whose name I KNOW I just misspelled) pegged, and he is definitely the most compelling character on screen.

Dead Again is a cool little noir. Tense direction from Branagh, solid acting all around, and a fairly interesting little plot twist.

John Edwards, eh? Pfft...
