Review of De Palma (2016) by Brad S — 02 May 2016
An excellent documentary that most films fans will enjoy and Brian De Palma fans will love. The film features an interview with him discussing all of his movies with clips from each to support, as well as clips of the films that influenced him, particularly Hitchcock and French new Wave directors.
De Palma is brutally honest about his hits and misses, what worked and what didn't. He's also very engaging, he's a good storyteller and seems very affable so it's actually quite interesting to listen to him speak.
This documentary is a must watch for cinema lovers.
