Review of De-Lovely (2004) by Paul B — 12 Sep 2004
[left]This film is ingenius in it's manner utilizing Cole Porter's music toestablish a musical biopic. Kevin Kline is at his best and should not be forgotten when Oscar nominations are selected. The use of current vocalists to help the audience enjoy Porter's music makes it that much more appealing. Porter's selfish behavior is shown destroying his only true love that of Linda. One cannot help but feel for her and pity Cole Porter. It's a tale well worth seeing but be ready to sob some. It is not for everyone but to those who love music fine performances and a unique way of tying every aspect of a story together do not miss this one.
