Hey, let's watch a pair of depressing movies! De-Lovely feels a bit contrived, with its odd narration and very staccato dialogue b/w Linda and Cole...but the very end of the movie, where they are sitting at the piano together, is beautiful. A big bravo to Jonathan Pryce singing "Gabriel"- you go, Governor Swann! (Another 'Pirates' actor, Kevin McNally, has a big role as well) Sad, tragic (for the eternally patient and understanding Linda), but good if you're in a light fluff/depressed mood. Long sequence of "So In Love" kept me happy (one of, if not my most, favorite Cole Porter songs)..

I don't understand why Beyond Borders was reamed by critics. Maybe it's preachy to some, but I found it pretty moving and very interesting. Plus, the cast was beautiful (Clive Owen and Angelina), and their acting was very solid. A depressing movie in so many ways, it's also another testament (as many movies I've been watching lately have been) to true love..

I watched these sad little movies along with others I've already seen that I wanted the 'rents to watch- Garden State, Anchorman, and I, Robot. Laila and I should be seeing Elektra next week- I wasn't planning on seeing it, but I'm remotely interested enough to watch it for free! Plus who knows what new previews there will be? Mr. and Mrs. Smith, perhaps?? Mmmm. Yum. I still haven't devised a plan, but I am going to steal the gigantic "poster" of Angelina that's at Regal. I'm sure no one will notice me walking out with it, as long as I look like I know what I'm doing!.
.
I miss Emily already! She said she has a bulletin board of pictures in her dorm room, and it sounds like the board is more of an Emily and Kaci shrine..."there's one of us at sophomore homecoming, and one of you, and one of us last year, and...". Hehe. I <3 you too!.
.
Will I ever see Closer/Finding Neverland/Spanglish? Doesn't seem like it. I can't complain though, as break was very productive movie-watching wise (and, otherwise ;) ). Next rentals: Chocolat, Practical Magic, Original Sin..
