Review of D.C. Cab (1983) by Lawrence T — 02 Apr 2009
Oh the gems you find for $3 at Big Lots lol. This is easily one of the worst movies I've seen, but damn it if I didn't enjoy the ride with "D.C. Cab". Surprisingly this has a lot of familiar faces and some household names, but that still doesn't give this piece of crap any credibility.
Joel Schumacher's 2nd directing effort, which he also wrote, really serves no purpose but to demonstrate how horrible this cab company is by showing random scenes of its colorful cabbies. The most colorful of course is none other than the actually insane Gary Busey.
Busy is f**kin' nuts in this role and is visibly trippin' on something. Like Robert Buckles said his lines very well may have been all ad-libbed. My main reason for purchasing this "classic" was seeing Mr.
T on the front cover. T is the ONLY man in the history of men who could get away with wearing sweats, a striped spandex shirt, a weight belt and still look so intimidatingly BADASS. His line right off the back gives you hope for some absolutely hysterical moments (intentional or not).
One of the more surprising appearances is that of Bill Maher; bet he doesn't brag about that. I don't know how anyone would happen to get ahold of this, but if for some reason you'd see it listed On-Demand, call up your friends and gather round people.
