Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Russell G — 20 Jan 2012
This is like American GraffitiÂ? but instead of making a movie about the 50s in the 70s this made a movie about the 70s and made in the 90s . Unlike American GraffitiÂ? it does not have to level of soul searching or depth to it, but it is still fun to watch.
The movie is loosely structured and follows several characters around the last day of school in the summer of 76. The nostalgic 70s setting works well; we feel immersed in the wild teenage years of the 70s with a good cast.
It felt a little too wild and out of control and loses touch with real life, but it makes for a more memorable movie. This cult classic is pretty fun, has some iconic lines and scenes and a pretty talented cast making it worthwhile.
