Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Charlie S — 16 Jul 2014
If you haven't seen this movie yet then you've been livin under a rock. So get out from under that rock and start watching. Despite its look at teenagers in 1976 under the stars n stripes on the last days of school it captures the halcyon yet last age of innocence with beer kegs and classic rock, muscle cars and smokin grass.
Even though it set out to capture 1976 its the overall message that reminds us, the viewer, what OUR high school times were like. Whether you were goin out to get tickets for that summer concert or not signing a pledge to play football or just running from jackass seniors trying to haze you, deep down you know the moments captured on this movie came close to what high school was like in ANY decade.
Its a reminder of a movie that makes us think how young and naive we were and what the world would bring once we left high school. If you wanna capture that state of arrested development again just buy this film.
