Review of Dazed and Confused (1993) by Mesh B — 04 Aug 2012
Regarded by many as a cult classic high school movies of the 90's, Dazed and Confused shared the similar motivation and dedication on bringing what many of us went through, transition from Junior to High School and what it feels like to spend the last day of your senior year before plunging into the adult world. Although the movie started slow, it grew rapidly entertaining by inducing stoner jokes, 70's cliche and dilemma in adolescent life. All cast did great, considering many of them made their debut (first recognition) in this film. From Jason Landon, Matthew McConaughey, Michelle Burke, Parker Posey, Mila Jovovich and Adam Goldberg are some of my favorites. Richard Linklater as the director deserves the recognition as one of the early director in Hollywood who succeeded in bringing fresh indie, coming of age movie to the surface. Don't miss it!
8/10.
