Review of Days of Wine and Roses (1963) by Masorad ( — 08 Feb 2010
A subject matter for which "Lost Weekend" gets far more press but which is less convincing and moving than the half-hopeful, half-forlorn ending here. Coupled with a fine performance by Lemmon and finer by Remick it moves from superficial cliché in the first half to touching heart-tugger in the second.
A nice supporting turn by future TV Oscar Madison actor Jack Klugman, something of an irony against future movie Felix Unger actor Jack Lemmon -- some very nice scenes together.
