Fairly standard revhead movie, ie thin on plot, high on car racing action. Script is quite predictable, contrived and lame.
Robert Duvall is great, but deserves a lot better than this. Tom Cruise gives a fairly solid performance, as does the supporting cast. Marks one of Nicole Kidman's first Hollywood movies.
Notable only as the movie where Tom Cruise met Nicole Kidman. The rest was tabloid history.
