This mediocre Tony Scott outing tries to be about the mortal toll taken by stock car racing and similar competitive adrenaline rushes, but the script and its general execution is too---forgive the pun---pedestrian.
But there is a nostalgic filling beneath the shallow crust of late '80s, early '90s Paramount and Bruckheimer genre stuff.
