Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Scott K — 04 Nov 2007
A hypnotising visual spectatle, although there was very little to keep me engaged. Other similar films (I'm thinking along the lines of Herzog) keep you interested by focusing on the characters and giving you a deeper look into their psyche.
In this, every time a character was on screen, they were merely delivering plot information. And unfortunately, that plot was kind of weak. The visuals are excellent, and the whole production that they put on was definitely an achievement, but it could have added up to a lot more.
