Days of Heaven is a good plate with nothing on it. Sure it is shot well, but everything else is god awful. The three main characters are (I believe their names were pretty face 1, pretty face 2, and pretty face 3) are some of the hardest to care about ever put to film. The dialogue is wooden and delivered poorly, throughout the entirety of the film. The narration, which makes up a good 1/4 of the movie was entirely useless, with the lines being a mish-mash of stuff that a 5 year old would say and stuff that Socrates would say, as if that ads depth to the movie. Why are the two main characters in love? There is never any chemistry for the entirety of the movie. All of a sudden the rich man compliments the poor girl and she falls in love out of guilt. The plot could have been intriguing and was for about 10 minutes, but then nothing happens for the entirety of the movie. Circus people come, and for some reason I am supposed to be entertained by that. But the main plot point stagnates and festers until I couldn't care about the rotten mess anymore.
Watch this movie with the sound off and you might enjoy it.
