Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Derek K — 28 May 2008
Malick's second (and last for almost two decades!) effort is a beautifully painted picture of life in a time past, all centered around a story of love, greed, and deceit, that remains as a very un-traditional film in the sense that the landscape, just as much as the human actors, plays a major role in what is going on.
While a little confusing at first viewing, "Days of Heaven" 's sweeping cinematography and minimal dialogue rightfully classify this film as a timeless classic of American cinema.
