Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Adam P — 08 Aug 2008
A perfectly crafted biblical tale set in the Texas Panhandle of the 1900s feature Gere in his early 30s glory, Linda Manz' hypnotic patois, Ennio Morricone's pastoral score, and Almendros' real-light cinematography.
Sam Shepherd also very convincing as the ailing farmer. A very socialist film in a curious manner, and a tale of the insidiousness of greed.
