Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Javor B — 14 Aug 2011
A visual masterpiece that makes you believe you are reading poetry rather than watching a movie. Every time I saw Brooke Adams on the screen I could not stop thinking how beautiful she was and every time I heard Linda Manz' narrative voice I could not believe how authentic it sound.
Initially I thought that the movie was perfect except the emotions between the main characters which felt muted, but then I realized it's a story told from a perspective of a young girl and we ought to see things through her eyes. And from that perspective it actually makes even more sense.
