Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Scott C — 11 Nov 2012
Only my second Terrence Malick film and I was alittle cautious when I blind bought on DVD. I'm glad I did because it's a solid movie that could possibly get better on repeated viewings. Filmed in the late 70's, this was before Richard Gere developed into the love/hate movie star that he ended up becoming. Brooke Adam's is also very attractive in this film even a strange sort of way.
The movie it's self is cinematography first and story second. If you're expecting a story that movies you every detail you will be caught off guard. If you're not aware of Malick's orthodox way of telling a story, I would suggest doing some research before watching one of his films.
