Review of Days of Heaven (1978) by Matt K — 27 Oct 2007
An amazingly beautiful film. It is worth seeing for the breathtaking visuals alone, but the story leaves a little to be desired. It is weird because the movie felt like it should have been longer because the I did not feel like I knew the characters well enough to care when the final sequence of events occurs, but at the same time the movie was so slow paced it would be almost unwatchable at a longer length.
I did enjoy it however and the last half hour is spectacular. Also note the score by Ennio Morricone that perfectly compliments the visuals.
