Review of Days of Glory (2006) by Lydia G — 11 Jul 2007
If you followed the orthodox view of French history, every Frenchman joined the resistance to fight the boche....In fact they recruited hundreds of thousands of North Africans into the Free French forces.
This is a kind of stock WW II movie, but it at least covers the contributions of the North Africans who fought for the French. Maybe there'll be one about the Algerians who fought on their side in the War of Independence and were also shabbily treated.
