Review of Daylight Fades (2010) by Daryl M — 14 Sep 2013
The film should be given a chance and a viewing. I'm a fan of vampire legend; I wanted something different; and this movie does not follow the typical "Hollywood Track". I went in with zero expectations, did not start or end like the typical vampire movie and was for that reason difficult to market and meet the expectations of people who expect either a "completely vampire horror" movie or a "completely romantic drama" movie.
It doesn't do either 'extremely well' but does it well enough to enjoy and satisfy your curiosity about how it ends. I think Ellis did a respectable job and gave me something to think about.
And the acting of the three leads was balanced. This movie doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is; and it acts out the story with regular guys and gals- in a way that could happen to 'anyone'.
So looking at it that way, it's a good, original movie.
