Review of Daylight (1996) by Jc L — 05 Apr 2008
Action Hero Sylvester Stallone is quite literally plunged into his most daring role as Ex-Head of Emergency Services Kit Latura when he stumbles upon a horrifying city disaster that threatens to claim the kailedoscopic lives of various New York personalities.
Without a second thought to his own life on instinct, he rushes to their aid in the most claustrophobic conditions imaginable. Greeted only by ridicule from the small band of surviviors, Latura forges on in his belief of only saving them.
Thus, do any of them survive??? Spectacular sets, a pulsating musical score and stupendous action sequences keep the plot moving forward with skin-crawling frequent urgency - an acute sense of palpable frustration envelopes the entire atmosphere.
Stallone's own son Sage is featured in a small yet great role of a convicted juvenile.
