Review of Daylight (1996) by Ryan B — 20 Sep 2009
After turning his hand at drama in COPLAND, Sly returned to the action genre with DAYLIGHT, a homage to the disaster flicks of the 1970's. The film is silly on many levels but there's no denying the action plays out very well and we get some likable characters to root for, which is always important. Stallone does a nice job in the action scenes but his emotional work comes off very fake and one can't help but laugh.
Plot Outline: Disaster in a New York tunnel as explosions collapse both ends of it. One hero tries to help the people inside find their way to safety.
