Review of Daydreamer (2007) by Steve S — 02 Nov 2014
*** (out of four).
Aaron Paul makes a stab at being taken seriously as an actor, and he pulls it off, even when the material lags a little bit behind.
Paul stars as a troubled young man whose bouts of alcohol and drugs have caused him to black out. He wakes up unaware of where he has been and unable to explain the blood on his fists. He also can be quite charming since a girl he met at a bar has fallen for him.
I admired the performance from Paul and the script is intriguing for the most part, even though it at times threatens to become routine, like when a friend fresh out of jail tries convincing him to go on a burglary of a huge house.
