Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Thomas G — 05 Mar 2011
Daybreakers is possibly the best vampire film in American cinema right now. It is great because it is able to combine vampirism, science, and incorporations ina unique way. The cinematography is incredible, as well as the art design.
I am surprised that it did not get nominated at the Academy Awards for anything, because the art design in this is better than anything else I had seen all year (even better than Alice in Wonderland).
There are parts where it is extremely gory, but possibly because it is a vampire film. it appears to work. Some of the special effects are cheesy, but the film sucks you in so emotionally, that you do not notice.
It is a must-see for sci-fi and horror fans.
