Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Matt C — 31 Mar 2011
This is good, surprisingly good. Where the vampire films of the '80s drew parallels with the AIDs virus this builds on that and also brings the concept up to date. Now blood is seen as a natural resource and one that is running out in the same way that oil defines our current society.
If anything the action scenes let the film down slightly and some over the top gore, but the story is genuinely original and never loses pace. Really worth the effort.
