Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Sterling B — 22 May 2011
While it is interesting to see a somewhat well-realized world in which vampires have become the dominant species, this inconsequential bit of genre filmmaking fails to connect on an emotional level or to offer us anything fresh from a plot perspective.
Ethan Hawke's performance is painfully lacking in subtlety, while Sam Neill and Willem Dafoe simply deserve better material. Some of the violence/action is enjoyable, but overall, there is little here to recommend.
