Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Robert C — 29 Oct 2011
The premise is actually fascinating- Its like what if Frost won at the End of Blade? How would the world be? So the first half hour or so of the movie is cool to watch, getting set up in the world in almost a Children of Men sort of style. But then the plot gets in the way, lol. The actors are all fine, and the effects are good. Sam Neil stands out as the slimy corp villain. Willem Dafoe is miscast as a redneck-type badass.
The logic behind the cure seems a little too "easy", but a different vampire take that should be checked out for fans of the genre.
Rent /Stream it.
