In a futuristic world, a virus has spread on Earth, and it turns people into vampires. Ethan Hawke stars as a scientist hired to find a substitute for human blood, which is running out. The film has some originality, and its attempts at basically reworking the character of the vampire at a time in which it had been abused by teen romanticised films like Twilight seemed daring and admirable.

But the formula is more or less already seen before.
