Review of Daybreakers (2010) by Dee S — 04 Feb 2013
After Twilight and New Moon butt raped the vampire genre and almost killed it, you'd think that in 2010, there'd be a good vampire movie other than Eclipse. Well we got Daybreakers. The story is set in 2017 and is full of vampires where the human race is getting low very fast making it unable for the undead to find their blood supplies.
The search is lead by hematologist Edward Dalton played by Ethan Hawke who is brought by a group of survivors to be introduced to Elvis played by Willem Dafoe, a vampire-turned-human because he almost got burnt by the sun and hid in a river.
This gives Edward an idea thinking that both water and sunlight can be the cure to burn out immortality from the vampires and increase the human race. This movie so far is my second best vampire movie ever.
The first being Interview With The Vampire:The Vampire Chronicles. It's a completely new idea, it's epic, it's awesome and it's faithful to it's respected material. Daybreakers (2010) gets a 9.
7/10.
