Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Don S — 08 Jul 2011
I'd heard this was a "horror" movie all fans of the genre should watch so I thought I'd give it a try. This is very poorly done. I was not expecting much based on the premise, and I got less than I expected.
Really bad acting (no wonder this is the only film the actors are in), lame special effects, and a story that has been done much better (minus the vapid and overlong rape scene). The revenge portion of the movie is over too quicky, and the setup (introduction of characters, motivations for behaviors, etc.
) moves way too slowly. The whole movie made little sense. When the guys kidnap the girl I kept wondering why she didn't just jump out of the boat. And why would the guys go back there voluntarily after they find out she still lives? Not the classic horror movie I was led to believe over the years.
Not worth watching, even for curiosity value.
