Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Mark D — 07 Oct 2011
The rape scene is not that a big a deal. The poor quality of the flick is but it still has a 70s essence to it. Editing during the rape scenes annoyed me though with its repetativeness, but I suppose its there to confuse and make the viewer uneasy. Its watchable but I prefered Last House.
Ok I take some of this back. God knows what cut I originally watched. Its not amazing, but the new cleaned up cut is impressive, editing is tighter and the film makes more sense than the original viewing. Compared to the remake, its not as inventive but still as engaging as justified this time round. I think it deserves an extra half star.
