Review of Day of the Woman (1978) by Rachael H — 02 Nov 2011
I can see why Roger Ebert calls this movie the worst film of all time. It also made TIME magazine's "Top Ten" list of Ridiculously Violent Movies. The one star that I will donate to this film is for the courage of Camille Keaton to take on a character who experiences the brutality and violence of being raped over and over again.
She had no help from the script or any of the other "actors" who were in this movie. I guess that's why none of the other four guys ever did anything again. This movie is just a novelty probably because of the full female nudity in a feature length film for 1978.
It was almost as uncomfortable to watch as the rape scene from the re-make of "The Last House on the Left". I'm sure you can find somewhere online to watch this for free. For some reason, it has the same taboo cult status as "Cannibal Holocaust.
" Also there are a lot of contradictions on Camille's relationship to Buster Keaton and her year of Birth. Some sources say granddaughter, some say grandniece. Some have her DOB as 1947, some have 1950.
