Review of Day for Night (1973) by Ben K — 29 Jul 2007
Truffaut's take on making a film but really concerns the whole creative process. I love it when he says "Making a film is like a stagecoach ride in the old west. When you start, you are hoping for a pleasant trip.
By the halfway point, you just hope to survive." The title is reference to a kind of filter put on a camera that allows you to shoot nighttime foot during the day. The french call it "la nuit americain' which is also the French title of the film.
