Review of Day for Night (1973) by Donovan D — 08 Sep 2007
A film about people in love with cinema made by a man for whom cinema meant more than even life itself, Day for Night is a delightful look at the making of a film that any filmmaker or cineaste will be able to relate to, and will nod knowingly at statements like 'Making a film is like a stagecoach ride in the old west.
When you start, you are hoping for a pleasant trip. By the halfway point, you just hope to survive' and 'I might quit a guy for a movie, but I'd never quit a movie for a guy!'.
