Review of Day for Night (1973) by Jayson Q — 24 Jan 2008
I wish I could say that I've been on enough film sets to know that this is truthful. But even though I can't, I know it is. It's a blend of emotions to create art. Reality blends with fiction, then comes back around until they're both just distorted versions of each other.
The dream scenes of Truffaut stealing the Citizen Kane pics speak, to me, about a true love for film that he can never lose, even in the middle of a trying shoot. There's so much more here than I could ever fit into this tiny box.
Encapsulates film and filmmaking better than any other movie.
