Review of Day for Night (1973) by Jose P — 30 Aug 2008
A movie for cinephiles made by one of the greatest cinephiles of all time, Francois Truffaut. It's a love letter to the medium illustrated in an effortless way that only Truffaut could. Not only is it a wonderful depiction of what the filmmaking process looks like, but there's plenty of comedy and drama to keep non-film buffs entertained.
On top of all that, the ensemble cast is great as is the witty and complexly woven script. Truffaut also does an excellent job at portraying both the film being made and the offscreen drama. Definitely one of my favorite films of all time.
