Review of Day for Night (1973) by Reece L — 15 Aug 2015
Everyone is just a little crazy in front and behind the cameras for François Truffaut's "Day for Night." The most surprising element of this classic film is that it never fully commits to "satire" or to "realism" -- this is humorous ode to the filmmaking and those who have laid the groundwork and for those who continue to struggle against all odd to make movies.
The question of whether or not Truffaut's "fictional" film is going to be good or very bad is beside the point. "Day for Night" possess a sort of magic that can only be found in movies.
Great film!
