Review of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) by Toughcrowd — 23 Jul 2014
Equipped with stunning visuals, a simplistically complex plot and a gripping cast, Dawn lives up to the expectations set by its predecessors and raised the bar even further for future instalments. I remember watching Rise three years ago and being blown away by the staggeringly beautiful graphics and Andy Serkis' performance in the mo-cap suit as per usual, never fails.
The film had an essence that seemed to capture the tone of the entire series so far as well as forging the future of the franchise. The studio was granted a generous budget and made the very most of it.
