Better than I expected. Especially the first half. I loved the "village" of the apes out in the woods and everything shot at that location. The human characters were solid with Jason Clarke giving the best performance.
The war scenes were more interesting than usual. Not bad, but nowhere near the original film that started all of this. The mystery and suspense in the original still holds up today with repeated viewings and not a single movie since in the franchise can hold a candle to it.
