Review of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) by Jason H — 05 Jul 2015
Meh.
How apes acquired human-style language modules and human-style cognition without having evolved them over many generations, is rather magical and unrealistic, and is not covered adequately for my tastes.
They are pretty much human-equivalent in many brain activities, thoughts and emotions, in one generation.
Etc., etc...
There is a big fight scene near the end that is reminiscent of Donkey Kong, which takes place on a huge system of steel girders in profile view.
All the apes are so human-like that I was very surprised that they were not wearing clothes yet. LOL.
